  • The 10th Battalion leaves Anzac for a rest period on Imbros Island, where a camp had been established for allied soldiers to recuperate amid the island’s vineyards, fruit trees and clear sparkling water. There was even a bazaar that sold fruit, chocolate and lollies. Regimental Medical Officer, Captain Harry Nott, described the three-day break as: ‘A perfect holiday picnic’.
