- The Second Battle of Krithia begins as Allied troops with heavy artillery advance on the town of Krithia at the base of the flat-topped hill of Achi Baba. The three day long attempt to advance the Allied position would end in failure on 8 May. About one third of the Allied soldiers would become casualties.
- Dennis Edward William Gaynor enlists. Dennis is commemorated on the Centenary of WWI in Orange Honour Roll; he would die of wounds on board a hospital ship on 28 August 1915.
- The Leader publishes the latest casualty list from the Dardanelles. Among them is Eric Martin ‘Dick’ Solling.
