  • British forces advance on Kilimanjaro in East Africa
  • Russian troops advance along the coast of the Black Sea in Turkey, capturing the town of Meparvi
  • The Persian government collapses under pressure from Britain; Prime Minister Prince Firman Firma and Foreign Minister Mohtashim ed Douleh resign. Persia would remain neutral during WWI, but be the battleground for conflicts due to its strategic location between Britain’s colonial interests in south Asia and the Ottoman Empire and its substantial oil reserves to the west.
