  • The Australian destroyers HMAS Parramatta and HMAS Torrens attack an Austrian submarine 100 miles east of Malta. The submarine submerges and escapes. The destroyers are part of the Otranto Barrage, the Allied naval blockade of the Otranto Straits between Brindisi and Corfu.
