  • National Registration Day in Great Britain.┬áThe National Registration Act 1915, introduced on 15 July, required all British citizens between the ages of 15 and 65 to complete a form to be collected on 15 August. The form recorded name, address, age, nationality, marital status, profession or occupation, and employment details. Individuals were then issued with a registration certificate and were required by law to notify the Local Registration Authorities if they moved house.
