  • The NSW Government declares the day to be “Belgian Day”. The Leader encourages the people of Orange to “make a superhuman effort” and contribute what they can afford to the brave Belgians, “so that it may be said, that Orange did her duty and did it well.” Citizens of Orange are asked to congregate outside the Post Office at 1pm sharp to “give one long rousing cheer to Albert the Brave, the King of Belgium” and to sing the national anthem.
