  • 1,000 men of the German Asia Corps launch an attack on Australian Light Horse positions at Abu Tellul on the west bank of the Jordan River in Palestine. The attack is unsuccessful.
  • German submarine UB-105 torpedoes French cargo and passenger ship SS Djemnan in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya. The ship takes two minutes to sink with the loss of 436 of the 754 people on board.
