  • The Coo-ee March arrives in Martin Place, Sydney. The recruits are greeting by Prime Minister Billy Hughes and a crowd of 100,000 people.

  • The Leader reports on the reaction of the British press to the “regular storm of indignation … in England by the announcement that there have been 97,000 British casualties in the Gallipoli Peninsula”. The Gallipoli Expedition
