my grandfather was William Charles Fubbs, I only recently learned he was born in Orange and went to WW1 but, today I have found out he left from Orange.

My father, Charles William Fubbs, did not speak of ‘Pop’, my mother told me the little I know of him. He died long before I was born,

I was born in Sydney and after moving around NSW, we settled in Narromine, 5 years ago only 2hrs from where Pop was born and lived.

I just had to tell someone this news, I feel you would understand my feelings. We are going to Orange, hopefully in October and will do the WW1 heritage trail along with Cobb & Co trail. I am looking forward to it more now to see where my grandfather lived and worked.

thank you for leading me to another chapter in my grandfather’s life.

kind regards

dorothy duke
