  • The Leader reports “The heat was so great at Liverpool encampment on Friday that ten horses collapsed in the Light Horse lines, and drill had to be suspended.”
  • Dr Howse’s new moustache continues to draw attention. The Leader publishes a letter from a soldier describing Dr Howse’s transformation from a respectable county doctor to an army officer. So popular is the good doctor that the letter writer exclaims: “We would follow him to hell.”
