  • The Leader reports that 6,000 Australian soldiers serving abroad have married British women. Lieut-Colonel Dr Springthorpe estimates that that one in every 33 Australian bachelor soldiers gets married in England and that 800 weddings are taking place each month. Anzac’s Brides
