  • Lieutenant General Sir Harry Chauvel leads the Australian Mounted, ANZAC Mounted, British 60th Infantry Divisions and the Imperial Camel Corps in a second raid on the town of Es Salt in Palestine. The objective is to secure a launching point for operations against the key railway junction at Deraa. Fighting continues until 3 May, when the Allies are forced to retreat in the face of determined Turkish resistance.
