- Returned soldier James Thorpe of Forest Road receives news that his son, Oliver James Thorpe, has been wounded in action for a second time. Pte OJ Thorpe Wounded
- The Leader reports that the Lord Mayor of Sydney is planning a “monster reception” to welcome home the first contingent of Anzacs. Return Of The Anzacs
- HMAS Swan, engaged in anti-submarine duties in the Adriatic and Mediterranean, rescues the crew of an allied aircraft which had force-landed. The aircraft had been operating with a Japanese destroyer flotilla escorting a convoy from Port Said to Salonika.
