  • 250,000 German-Bulgarian troops under the command of General August von Mackensen advance on the Romanian capital, Bucharest. Fighting in the Battle of Bucharest continues until 6 December and results in 60,000 Romanian casualties. German-Bulgarian casualties are unknown.
  • The Luftstreikrafte (German Air Force) is established as a separate branch of the army
  • The German Patriotic Auxiliary Service Bill is presented to Reichstag (German Parliament). The proposed bill stipulates that men between the ages of 17 and 60 years of age are liable to be called up for labour.
