- Bertram Henry Frank Collier enlists. Bertram is commemorated on the Centenary of WWI in Orange Honour Roll; he would be killed in action in France on 23 July 1916.
- Norman Osborn Herbert Gall embarks from Sydney for overseas service
- The Leader reports that the Federal Woollen Mills in Geelong will commence producing material to avert the threatened shortage of soldier’s uniforms. Soldiers’ clothing
- Germany publishes an official press report regarding the German use of chlorine gas at the Second Battle of Ypres on 22 April 1915, claiming that the French had manufactured and employed gas in battle first.
