  • German and Bulgarian forces capture the seaport of Constanza in the Dobrudja province of Romania
  • Able Seaman Albert Knaggs, of the submarine HMAS AE2, dies of typhus at the Turkish POW Camp at Belemedik. Knaggs is the last of four AE2 men to die while prisoners of Turkey.
  • Portuguese forces attack at Nakalala in East Africa; German soldiers retreat, leaving behind munitions
  • Enemy aeroplanes drop bombs near Sheerness Harbour, in Kent. No casualties are reported. British aeroplanes pursue the German raiders, one of which ditches into the sea.
