  • German airships raid Britain for the first time. Zeppelins drop bombs on Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn on the eastern coast of England. Five people are killed, twenty are injured. This is the first time, not only in WWI, but in the history of aerial warfare, that a civilian population centre has been attacked from the air.
