- Norman Percy Stuart Trathen enlists. Norman is commemorated on the Centenary of WWI in Orange Honour Roll; he would die of disease in Holsworthy Internment Camp on 8 December 1917.
- British forces consolidate their positions; they withdraw from Bois des Foureaux (High Wood); while French troops advance west of Fleury at Verdun
