  • George Edward John Seers enlists. George is commemorated on the Centenary of WWI in Orange Honour Roll; he would be killed in action in France on 5 April 1918.
  • Turkish forces reoccupy Mush and Bitlis in Armenia. Their occupation is shortlived; Russian troops take them back on 24 August.
  • British forces occupy Bagamoyo in German East Africa
