  • The Leader reports that “the war is rushing to its close”. Peace Before Christmas
  • The Salvation Army Band, members of the VAD, Digger Post, returned soldiers, cadets, boy scouts and the general public join the mayor of Orange at the railway station to welcome Army Chaplain Major William McKenzie MC (aka “Fighting Mac”) to Orange.
