  • Third anniversary of the Gallipoli landing
  • The people of Orange proceed to the Orange Showground to commemorate Anzac Day. The Orange Model Band plays The Last Post as returned soldiers assemble in the centre of the ground. The Mayor and other dignitaries deliver speeches from a platform where wreaths are laid in honour of local fallen soldiers. Anzac Day – Local Celebrations
  • Allied troops reoccupy the village of Villers-Bretonneux, reversing Germany’s advance towards the transport hub of Amiens and marking the end of the Spring Offensive on the Somme. This action would prove a crucial turning point of WWI. To this day, the people of the town annually observe Anzac Day and maintain a museum dedicated to the Australian troops
